Writing Guide Home Referencing

These are examples taken from a fantastic guide courtesy of Anglia Ruskin University and should cover most eventualities but should you need more detail or a referencing system for a different source please click here.

Internet:
Authorship or Source, Year. Title of web document or web page. Available at: include web site address/URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and additional details such as access or routing from the home page of the source. [Accessed date].

Journal (Scientific paper):
Author, Initials., Year. Title of article. Full Title of Journal, Volume number (Issue/Part number), Page numbers.

Books:
Author, Year. Title of book. Edition (only include this if not the first edition). Place of publication: Publisher.

The author’s name should be written surname first followed by a space and the initial(s) and if there is more than one author, separate each one by a comma.

Use the footnote function in Word to do this and don’t bother with a bibliography.
